Hon. Minister of Science and Technology Reviews SLAEB’s 2026 Second-Quarter Performance
The Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Board (SLAEB) welcomed the Hon. Minister of Science and Technology, Professor Chrishantha Abeysena, and a delegation of senior ministry officials on 7th September 2026 for a review of the Board’s performance during the second quarter of 2026.
The review focused on SLAEB’s key programmes, technical activities, achievements, ongoing initiatives, and future priorities. Heads of Divisions presented updates on their respective areas of responsibility, highlighting key progress and developments. Representatives of institutions under the Ministry also participated in the discussions, contributing their perspectives on strengthening inter-institutional collaboration and promoting the effective application of science and technology for national development.
The Hon. Minister emphasized the importance of further strengthening Sri Lanka’s scientific and technological capabilities and encouraged SLAEB to expand the peaceful, safe, and innovative applications of nuclear technology for the benefit of the country.
During the visit, the Hon. Minister officially launched the SLAEB WhatsApp Channel, further enhancing public access to timely information on the Board’s activities, programmes, and developments in nuclear science and technology.
The visit provided a valuable platform to review SLAEB’s progress, identify future priorities, and strengthen collaboration towards advancing science and technology for national development.
